The BD.dry 2.5L construction combines a waterproof, breathable, windproof membrane with a two-way stretch woven face fabric and a PFAS-free DWR finish, delivering genuine all-weather protection without the stiff, crinkly feel that makes most rain shells miserable to climb or move in.

Black Diamond built this shell around the reality of being out there, not just standing in it. The climbing-helmet-compatible hood adjusts on the fly, the YKK Aquaguard center front zipper keeps water out at the entry point that matters most, and the DWR-sealed pit zip vents give you the temperature control to push hard without soaking out from the inside. Underarm gussets open up your range of motion on steep terrain, and when the weather breaks and the sun shows back up, the whole shell stuffs into the right-hand pocket with a carabiner clip loop so it hangs off your harness or bag and gets out of the way.
