Vintage 1960s 2-PC Plum Check Dress and Jacket Set, Large

Cute late 60s matching dress and jacket set in plum/mauve check fabric. 

The knee length day dress has short sleeves and a round neckline featuring a pussy bow tie. The top half of the dress is solid beige while the bottom skirt half is in the same check fabric as the jacket. There is a centre back plastic zipper to close. It is unlined and has chain stitch thread belt loops at sides for a matching 3.5 cm belt. 

Boxy topper jacket with round neckline and without closures (except for a top hook). It is unlined although the front is backed onto itself. 

It's giving professional vibes and could be easily styled for a modern update!

COLOUR: Plum-mauve and pinkish beige 

FABRIC:
Solid beige= Soft shantung silk (possible synthetic blend) with a satin reverse.

CONDITION:
Dress: Shedding to right sleeve, which has been patched. Stains and discolouration to the skirt front.
Jacket: Discolouration/fading throughout. Some splash stains on the front and sleeves. A sticker mark on the inside of the back neck (pictured). 
Belt: Fabric shedding around buckle and frayed at edges of tongue end.
